How Habitopia’s reward system works: coins, bonuses, streaks, medals, XP, and family rewards.
Key numbers
| Concept | Value |
|---|---|
| Coins per task (guardian anchor) | 2–10 (default Medium = 5 for juniors) |
| Perfect day bonus | +10% of that day’s coins |
| Consistency bonus (global streak) | 50 coins every 30, 60, 90… perfect days |
Core idea
Habitopia keeps two rewards separate:
- Coins — spent on Magic Chest cosmetics or real rewards you create.
- Experience (XP) — raises the companion’s level and unlocks visual evolutions.
Medals are showcase recognition. They almost never grant coins, except the special consistency bonus every 30 streak days.
The path of a coin
| Step | What happens | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The child marks the task as done | It waits for your approval |
| 2 | You approve the task | Coins + XP to the profile; chest animation |
| 3 | If the day was perfect on time (based on when the child completed) | Extra 10% bonus when the last task of the day is approved |
| 4 | At night (streak evaluation) | Streak rises or resets; medal and bonus milestones |
Coins per task
When you create or edit a task you choose difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard) and a reference coin value. That value is for a junior child (ages 7–11); the app adjusts automatically by each child’s age.
Reference table (Medium anchor = 5)
| Age group | Easy | Medium | Hard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Little ones (under 7) | 4 | 7 | 9 |
| Junior (7–11) | 4 | 5 | 7 |
| Older (12+) | 3 | 4 | 6 |
Little ones get +30% over the junior row; older children get −20%. Guardians can pick an anchor between 2 and 10 coins (default Medium = 5).
Your role as guardian
Only you can approve tasks. Until you approve, the child receives neither coins nor XP.
Streaks and perfect days look at when the child marked the task done, not when you approved it. You can approve later without penalizing a day completed on time.
What “on time” means
Each task can have a time block (morning, afternoon, evening) or a deadline. If the child marks it done before that limit, it counts as on time. If they mark it later, it counts as late for streaks and bonuses — even if you approve right away.
Automatic bonuses
| Bonus | Condition | Reward | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect day | The child completed all tasks within the schedule | +10% of coins earned that day (min. 1), on approval | Every on-time perfect day |
| 30-day consistency | Global streak at multiples of 30 (30, 60, 90…) | 50 fixed coins | Each multiple; also after losing a streak and reaching 30 again |
| 7-day streak medal | Every 7 consecutive perfect days (7, 14, 21…) | Showcase medal (×N counter) | Visual recognition; no coins |
Global streak
The streak measures consecutive days where the child completed all tasks within the schedule when marking them done. It is evaluated each night. If lost, it returns to zero and can be rebuilt from the next day.
| Situation | Effect on streak |
|---|---|
| +1 | The child completed all tasks of the day within the schedule |
| Reset to 0 | A task was missing on time, or completed by the child after the deadline |
| Neutral day | Paused day, day forgiven by the guardian, or no assigned tasks |
After losing a streak: when they reach 30 perfect days again, they receive the 50 consistency coins again. Medals already earned are not removed.
Long streaks (60, 90…): every multiple of 30 consecutive days grants another 50 coins. A child with a 60-day streak will have received the bonus on day 30 and day 60.
Medals (Magic Chest showcase)
Medals are visual trophies. Once earned, they stay in the showcase even if the streak drops — except the 7-day medal, which shows a counter (×2, ×3…) each time the milestone repeats.
General medals
| Medal | How it is earned |
|---|---|
| First win | First task approved by a guardian |
| 3-day streak | 3 consecutive on-time perfect days |
| 7-day streak | Every block of 7 perfect days; the counter rises |
| Perfect day | First on-time perfect day |
| Level 5 | Reach companion level 5 |
Habit medals (categories)
Each task has a category: Order, Learning, or Health. Category streaks are independent from the global streak and from coins.
| Medal | How it is earned |
|---|---|
| Order — 7 / 30 days | Streak on Order tasks |
| Learning — 7 / 30 days | Streak on Learning tasks |
| Health — 7 / 30 days | Streak on Health tasks |
For a day to count toward a habit streak:
- That day has at least one task in the category.
- All tasks in that category are approved by a guardian.
- The child completed them within the schedule (approval time does not matter).
Paused days, forgiven days, or days with no tasks in that category do not break the habit streak.
Experience and companion level
Each approved task grants the same amount of XP as coins. Level rises with accumulated experience and never falls. Higher levels evolve the companion visually, and some cosmetics require a minimum level.
| Level | XP required |
|---|---|
| 2 | 20 |
| 3 | 60 |
| 5 | 200 |
| 10 | 900 |
Where coins are spent
| Destination | Who acts | Typical cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Chest (cosmetics) | Child buys instantly | 5–30 coins | Does not require your approval |
| Family rewards (real) | Child redeems; you approve and deliver | You set it (min. 5; suggestions 10 / 25 / 50) | Coins are deducted on redemption |
Set up family rewards
In Rewards you create real-world rewards (movie night, ice cream, extra screen time…). Set a title, description, and coin cost. The app suggests short (10), medium (25), and longer-term (50) values, but you can choose any amount from 5 coins up.
Step-by-step also in the manual: Rewards and redemptions.
Example: a perfect day
Junior child, 3 tasks with Medium anchor = 5. Completed on time; you approved them.
| Task | Difficulty | Coins |
|---|---|---|
| Tidy the room | Medium | 5 |
| Read for 20 minutes | Medium | 5 |
| Brush teeth (night) | Easy | 4 |
| Task subtotal | 14 | |
| Perfect day bonus (+10%) | +1 | |
| Day total | 15 |
If they also had a 29-day streak and this was the 30th perfect day, they would get 50 more consistency coins (65 total that day).
Summary to explain to your child
- You do your tasks → mom or dad approves them → you earn coins and level up.
- If you finish everything on time that day (before each task’s limit), you get a 10% bonus.
- If you keep the streak for many days, you earn medals and, every 30 consecutive days, 50 bonus coins.
- With coins you can dress your companion or redeem rewards your family set up.
